NeoFinder 8.9.1 is now able to rotate HEIC photos created by iOS 26!
Apple has done some rather funky things there, and NeoFinder can now handle these new values properly.
The NeoFinder Users Guide has more about the lossless image rotation:

Final Cut Pro X keywords in video files!

NeoFinder 8.9.1 now catalogs the special keywords embedded by FCPX (Final Cut Pro X) in .mp4 and .mov video files!
Apple of course doesn't use the industry standard XMP, but writes its own format, so NeoFinder can now handle that one for you as well.

NeoFinder 8.9.1 is now able to catalog large RAW files in the formats
Sony ARW, but also ORF, RAF, ORI, IIQ, MOS, X3F, and MRW up to
50 times faster than before!
We were able to massively tune the thumbnail generation performance, especially for rotated images in these formats.

NeoFinder 8.9.1 now catalogs the
rotation information embedded in .mp4 and .mov video files, and adjusts
height and
width values accordingly for 90 and 270°!
That will also improve accurracy for the
Display Filter!

Faster movie caption writing!

NeoFinder 8.9.1 for macOS massively improves speed when writing Captions to large video files in the .mp4 and .mov formats!
https://www.cdfinder.de/guide/13/13.1/n ... ridge.html
That was rather slow, because in addition to the super fast XMP standard metadata, NeoFinder also always wrote a separate special caption field that is required for Apples Photos.app software.
Writing that additional field unfortunately forces a full rewrite of the entire video data, and for large video files, that was really slow.
So starting with NeoFinder 8.9.1, NeoFinder will no longer write that slow extra "caption" field for the Apple software by default.
If you need compatibility with "Photos.app", you can still tell NeoFinder to write that slow extra information, as outlined in the NeoFinder Users Guide:

H.265 for Apples QuickTime Player!

The Apple QuickTime Player, and thus the entire macOS AVFoundation framework has problems with some h.265 video codec files. It can only play the "hvc1" variant of this highly efficient video codec, but not the "hev1" version.
Sigh.

So the integrated Movie Converter in #NeoFinder 8.9.1 now makes sure to generate the proper variant that is even understood by Apple and macOS.
