Speed up updating Catalogue over Network?

Hello there,

we are using neo finder for decades (plural should be right – cd finder in the beginning) and are still loving it.
One thing I was wondering was if there was a way to speed up updating existing Catalogues over network.

We have our Catalogue files on a dropbox, which syncs locally, so that every user has the newest file at hand and locally. Searching in it is fast AF and super.
But updating the catalogue has always been a tedious process. Since I hat to shift computers (we have a dedicated computer who updates our main NAS hourly) I was re-evaluating the process and asking myself, why this process seems so slow... and if there was anything I could do, to speed up this process.

The Computer and the NAS (Synology) are connected to a 2,5 GBit/s switch both via 2,5G Network adapters. Transferring files usually runs with over 200 MB/s. SSDs are used on the NAS. This share on the NAS contains about 2 TB of data, about 1.000.000 files and 200.000 folders.

But updating the Catalogue runs at 1–2 MB/s. Neither the processor of both machines involved show any sweat, nor the RAM or any other component involved that iStat Menus can show.

I have uploaded my settings regarding the updating (so no recreating of preview files are happening).
Does anyone here have any idea, how to speed up the process? I hope I just have a (removable) bottleneck somewhere, that I did not see before.

Maybe someone has had this problem and found a way to speed things up.
Or is there a synology app somewhere, which might be able to update everything locally on the NAS (faster), that I am unaware of?
