Recently I attached a 4TB drive to my NAS and had Neofinder catalogue it. It took nearly 7 days to do this.
The final file is a huge 165+GB.
Did I do something wrong, should I have created a catalogue for each top level folder?
(For what it's worth I create a folder a year and subsequent subfolders for media or hardware type.)
The drive's details are
Size 4.0TB
Free Space 717.7 GB
Files 1,532,176
Folders 400,676
Data size 3.3TB
Catalogue size 165.4GB

Re: Did I catalogue incorrectly?
Hello,
yes, for such huge volumes we very much recommend to catalog the top level folders separately, as outlined in the NeoFinder Users Guide:
https://www.cdfinder.de/guide/11/11.1/f ... oging.html
Also, if that disk contain a Time Machine backup, you MUST use very specific settings:
https://www.cdfinder.de/guide/3/3.12/ti ... disks.html
LAst, what size did you ask NeoFinder for photo and video thumbnails? These play a very large part in the catalog file size...
